Brooklyn Private Residence Renovation

ABOUT THIS Remodel

The Brooklyn kitchen renovation and expansion was for a private home, for a family who has lived there for quite some time. Having worn in the dated space, the owners tasked us with blowing out the kitchen in the back of the property to bring in light and liven up the space for enhanced entertainment purposes.

Opening Up The Space

To unlock the entire back space, we removed interior partition walls to create room for the island centerpiece, making for a very large eatery Eden, slash entertainment kitchen.

Then, we opened up the walls in back of the space to create the sliding door, adding style and function to the kitchen design. We added larger windows to bring in more of the natural light, since the space faces the backyard, bringing in the greenery to create a really welcoming backdrop.

Touch Of Modern

We kept the interior design of this Brooklyn kitchen renovation pretty light, because the space is so large. Plus, in private home renovations, we're always trying to modernize. So the light color palate worked well (fresh white frameless custom shaker cabinets, grey quartz countertop, sprinkles of tea green on the laundry doors), especially when contrasted with the black hardware, window and door trim. The new hardwood floors ground the overall design, literally and figuratively.

Laundry Clean-Up

In addition to renovating the kitchen and flooring, we created a laundry nook for our client, tucking the washer and dryer into a customized closet with adjusted plumbing to accommodate. No longer taking up unnecessary space, yet just as convenient.

Hidden Radiator

Unbelievably, within the island, there is a large radiator. To remove completely would have required a substantial amount of work, including redoing all the basement plumbing, adjusted floor elevations and roughly $100k of added cost to the project. With our clients' best interest in mind, we kept the radiator in place, hiding the heat exchange within the island centerpiece, using our creativity to create custom ventilation. Voila, six figure savings and a solution that's equally appealing.

Our success stories

Forget about any horror story you have heard about contractors. Stop right here. This is the design-build contractor you want to HIRE. It was a breeze working with Aaron and Jonathan on our apartment combination project. We looked at quiet a few design-build companies and chose Gallery because of the great communication and the fact that they were able to manage material purchasing and product selection for us….They were honest, took responsibility and pride in their work.”

Gallery did a gut renovation of the two extremely dated bathrooms in our 1940 Bayside home. We couldn’t be more pleased with the results! The process from beginning to end was facilitated by their team, who came up with great design ideas and suggestions. They were always on top of the project and responded to our questions/problems quickly, with 100% resolution. I would not hesitate to recommend them!

After my wife and I purchased our West Village condo, we knew a renovation was first on our list of priorities. After a thorough search and meeting numerous firms, we found Gallery Kitchen and Bath and at Gallery we met Eli who from beginning was prepared to go above and beyond other contractors we met to make sure our vision came to fruition. From start to finish, Eli and team were hands on through the decision making process, carefully stepping us through our decisions and their implications.

From the start, we wanted a crew that could do full service (design and build). After looking at some other designs, we really liked what Gallery offered in way of aesthetics. Then, during the entire process, the team was all over it! Issues always come up, but it’s how these guys handled them that make me here writing a positive review. Can’t recommend them highly enough

I enthusiastically recommend Gallery and especially our project manager Eli, who did a superb job renovating our once decrepit 2-bedroom apartment in Brooklyn Heights. The project involved a full kitchen and bathroom renovation, as well as new electrical, refinished floors, new doors, new baseboards, and some rearranged bedroom closets. What is more, when I have them the wrong paint color for my daughter’s bedroom, and the team started to paint that color, they got the paint I wanted and corrected the “mistake” (which has actually been my mistake) and didn’t charge me for that either. I’d choose them again 100 times over and definitely recommend them to anyone considering a similar project.

We interviewed about 8 different companies before hiring a contractor for our apartment renovations. We immediately clicked with Peter, our project manager, and although Gallery was not the cheapest option, we chose them based on their upfront billing format, high client reviews, and depth of knowledge after speaking with Peter and Aaron. We loved how it was a “one stop shop” and were paying one bill, up front. …Everything was very transparent and we could not be happier with the results! Our apartment looks exactly how we imagined. Thank you!!
